Erickson Tap Collets

Features:
14pt DotTypes J, K, L, M & N are "Key-Drive" collets: (Form B)
75 pixel spaceA key-drive chuck has keys in the bore sidewall that project inward and engage the wide slots in the collet
75 pixel spaceproviding positive (no-slip) drive to the collet. The collets have a receptacle for the tap square providing
75 pixel spacepositive drive to the tap.
14pt DotTypes D, F, G & H collets (Form A) do not have key slots and most of them (that I have seen) do not have
75 pixel spacea receptacle for the tap square (but some do).
14pt Dot"Slot-Drive" Collets (Types Fs, Gs and maybe others): (Form C)
75 pixel spaceI don't know what Erickson called these but I call them "Slot-Drive" because the extension on the bottom of the collet
75 pixel spacefits in a drive slot in the chuck for positive drive of the collet. I can't find any catalog or other literature on them.
75 pixel spaceI have seen both F and G versions of these but there may also be D & H versions out there somewhere.
75 pixel spaceAll that I have seen had positive tap drive sockets. I refer to these as Type Fs, Gs, etc.
14pt DotFull length of the gripping bore must be maintained to achieve maximum accuracy and safety.
14pt DotInserting the cutting tool less than 2/3 the gripping length into the collet can permanently damage the collet.
14pt DotType "L" Key-Drive collets can be used in Type "F" Non-Key-Drive Chucks (but not vice versa).
